The X-Men's fight with the Avengers may've been a big deal in the recent Avengers vs X-Men crossover, but their first crossover brawl was way back in 1968. Also, the latter half of the 1960's saw the introduction of Havok and Polaris to the team and artist Neal Adams changed the face of comics...

• X-Men #32-33 (1967) The X-Men have a rematch with the Juggernaut.
• Strange Tales #156 [1/2] (1967) The X-Men help Nick Fury against Hydra.

• X-Men #34-39 (1967) The X-Men team up with Spider-Man, defeat Factor Three and gain new costumes.
• Avengers #47-49 (1967-1968) Magneto reclaims Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. Some scenes retold in Uncanny Origins #11 (1997) & Domination Factor: Avengers #1.2 (1999) during DOMINATION FACTOR.

• X-Men #40-42 (1968) X-Men vs Frankenstein's Monster and Grotesk; death of Professor X.
• X-Men #43-45 / Avengers #53 (1968) The Avengers and X-Men come into conflict again over Magneto, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch during WHEN MUTANTS CLASH. Some scenes retold in Domination Factor: Avengers #2.4 (1999) during DOMINATION FACTOR.

• X-Men #46-48 (1968) The X-Men break up.
• Ka-Zar #2[2/3]-3[3/3] / Marvel Tales #30 [3/3] (1970-1971) Angel fights his uncle Dazzler during WINGED WRATH.

• X-Men #49-52 (1968-1969) The X-Men reunite when the meet Polaris, Mesmero and Eric the Red.
• Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes #6(pp.1-14) (2007) The X-Men are invited to attend the Wasp and Yellowjacket's wedding.
• Avengers #60 (1969) The wedding is attacked by the Circus of Crime.
• Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes #6(pp.15-22) (2007) The X-Men stay for the reception.

• X-Men #53 (1969) X-Men vs Blastarr.
• Sub-Mariner #14 (1969) The X-Men make a cameo appearance during LIKE A DEATH RAY FROM THE SKY.

• X-Men #54-65 (1969-1970) The X-Men meet Cyclops' lost brother Alex Summers; Alex becomes Havok and helps the team defeat the Living Pharaoh; the X-Men battle Sentinels, Sauron, Magneto and Sunfire; Havok and Polaris join the X-Men; the team learn Professor X is alive.
• Classic X-Men #14 [2/2] (1987) Lilandra Neramani of the Shi'ar senses Professor X's powers during the X-Men's battle with the Z'Nox and decides to seek his aid.
• X-Men #65-66 (1970) Professor X faked his death to fight the Z'Nox invasion, but is left in a coma; the X-Men tackle the Hulk in Las Vegas.
• X-Men: The Hidden Years #1 (1999) The X-Men free Professor X from his coma.

• X-Men: Deadly Genesis #5 [2/2] (2006) Professor X tries to recruit Emma Frost; Professor X secretly trains Kid Vulcan (Gabriel Summers, Cyclops' brother).
• Amazing Adventures #9-10 (1971-1972) Magneto tries to control Black Bolt during THE KREE-SKRULL WAR.
• New Avengers: Illuminati #1 (2007) Professor X and the recently-formed Illuminati attack the Skrull Homeworld.
