THE WEDDING OF CYCLOPS AND PHOENIX (1994)

1994 was a really low year for Marvel. Possibly the lowest in history. Just about every major title was a mess and filler titles that had been generated to keep up with the early '90s comics boom were floundering. The X-Men's main titles were stuck in time and making little progress. Even the wedding of two of the original X-Men felt like treading water between the last major event and the next. Most people assumed those guys married years ago! Excalibur, X-Factor and X-Force were suffering from terrible line-ups as there just weren't enough decent characters to fill all these books. No wonder Wolverine decided to strike out on his own...
